“At AES Dominicana I have grown both professionally and personally, since I entered the company very young and this institution has believed in my talent and has allowed me to take on new risks. I am fully committed to the AES Family”.
Ilsa Pichardo started her career at the Commercial Division of EGE Itabo in 2004, at a time when AES owned 24% of that company. After completing her six-month internship, she joined the commercial team as an Analyst. Itabo trusted her talent to quickly adjust to new responsibilities and duties of her new position. During the three years she held this position, she gained new knowledge on the principles of the power industry, project assessment, and analysis of commercial risks.
After Itabo and AES Dominicana were merged, Ilsa became part of the Business Team and acquired new knowledge on new technologies and a more global vision of the commercial and financial planning of the business.
In 2008, Ilsa won a scholarship offered by the Dominican Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, (SEESCYT) to attend a MBA program on International Business thus complementing her Engineering background, and AES supported her and encouraged her to take advantage of this opportunity.
In March 2009, upon returning from the MBA, AES provided her with the opportunity to apply the newly acquired knowledge: she was given the position of Fuel and Charcoal Purchase Coordinator. She has occupied this position ever since, and has developed new working skills.
