“The company enrolled me in a training program with the purpose of enhancing the abilities I had displayed while performing my job. From that time on I have participated in training sessions, seminars, and conferences on gas turbines, offered in Houston, Texas; Axial compressors in AES Uruguayana, Brazil, this was a field training that lasted twenty seven (27) days, and ultrasound training in Puerto Rico”.
Huascar Mendoza
Started working at AES in 1999 as a driver and mechanic assistant. After two years he went on to fill the position of Field Operator and Maintenance Mechanic. In 2003, he became part of the maintenance team created for AES Andres and AES Los Mina, as Class A Mechanic.
Mendoza highlights that the company has made a fair acknowledgement of his progress and the effort he has always made in his job. He now works as Supervisor of the Mechanic Department, position to which he was promoted two years ago. “This company takes the time to invest on the people with talent to fulfill other roles. We just have to be patient and work always attached to our values” from there everything falls into place”.

As supervisor he has led projects such as the installation of the gas turbine transformer at AES Andres, major maintenance of the gas turbine at AES Andres, withdrawal of generator at Los Mina 5, maintenance of gas turbines at Los Mina 5 and 6, maintenance of the chimney at Los Mina 6, among others.
“Each one of these projects, and many more minor projects, have caused a significant impact on the operational efficiency and profitability since we have developed them with our internal personnel and on many occasions we have completed them before the scheduled date. All this is due to the trust AES has deposited in me and the team I work with hand in hand”.
