“AES Dominicana has been a key element in my professional and personal development, thanks to the financial support provided by the company, I am now completing a Masters Degree in State Administration Law, with a double degree issued by both the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) and the University of Salamanca”.
Alain Jiménez
Defines his path in AES Dominicana as both a “challenge” and a “pleasure”. He has been part of the AES family since
April 2006 when he first started working as Legal Coordinator for the Program towards the Elimination of Fraud. Later on he held other key positions such as Coordinator of Litigation and Regulation, Consumer Rights and Labor Law for a distributing company owned by AES at the time.
Among his many achievements during that period one can mention he managed to get, for the first time in our country, a sentence issued by the Dominican judicial system against a Dominican user for energy fraud, as well as the implementation of measures to prevent and reduce contingencies affecting the development of the company. Moreover he worked on one of the projects with greater relevance in the power industry: the draft for the new Electricity General Law, and its application manual.
This successful path at AES led him to be promoted to the position of Legal Manager for Regulatory Affairs, Consumer Rights and Labor Law, position which he holds to this day.
“I feel I have grown professionally thanks to the vision of former and present supervisors who have shared with me their experience and leadership so that I can better combine my abilities and skills, and guided me to reach the company’s goals”.
For Alain Jiménez, the greatest satisfaction one can have while working at AES Dominicana is “that your job may go past the walls around your desk and contribute to the country you love; any improvement and efficiency we may achieve as a company is translated in the wellbeing of the citizens that need energy to have a better quality of life. The better AES Dominicana is, the better our country shall be”.
